APM Design are a highly experienced and skilled multi-disciplinary team. We take on appointments tailor made to the specific needs of our Clients and their unique projects.
We work on projects of all sizes and budgets from small family run cafe refurbishments to large new build hotel and spas. No job is too big or small for APM Design.
APM can work as either lead Designer or as part of a wider Design team, depending on the nature of the project. The extent of our role will vary from project to project, with APM capable of undertaking services including: Concept Designs, Detailed Drawings, 3D Visuals, Specification of Internal Finishes, Landscaping Design, Planning Application and Listed Building Consents.
Our Construction Consultancy services can be provided either in support of our Designs or as a separate appointment acting in the capacity of either: Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Contract Administrator.
As a small family run business, we offer a personable 'down to earth' approach where our Clients brief is delivered with award winning design from our passionate and competent team with a collective experience of over 100 years.
The starting point of every project is to fully establish a clear brief with the client. Identifying objectives, we take time to learn the specific functions of the space and how it will be used, advising on more efficient space planning arrangements if appropriate.
We use our experience and knowledge of the latest design trends to establish an overall look and feel for the space, relayed through sketches, zonal diagrams, inspirational imagery and loose materials.
APM Design have access to suppliers throughout the UK and beyond. We ensure that any products suggested are fit for purpose and comply with any applicable Building Regulations. We suggest sample finishes and colours, inviting Client feedback throughout this process.
Once finalised, detailed specification documents will be produced, providing our Client with information for every product specified.
APM Design use a combination of AutoCAD and 3D visual software to produce accurate planning, construction and as built drawings. Detailed drawings and visuals are essential in ensuring that design visions are correctly interpreted and meet our Clients expectations.
The level of Detailed Drawings produced by APM will vary depending on the project and may include the following:
APM Design have an excellent record of securing planning permission and discharging conditions for our Clients in the hospitality and residential sectors.
Once appointed APM will produce all the necessary drawings in line with the Local Planning Authorities’ requirements and if necessary, procure additional surveys and site investigations to support the planning application.
APM remain on hand throughout the planning process, acting as Planning Agent, to address any Local Planning Officer queries and make the process as smooth as possible for our Clients. Once planning approval has been secured APM Design often remain on hand to ensure that any planning conditions are discharged correctly.
Having worked on dozens of listed buildings throughout the UK, including national landmarks such as the Cunard Building and Whitehall. APM Design have developed an excellent record of securing Listed Building Consent and Heritage Approvals.
APM have experience preparing both Design and Access Statements as well as Heritage Impact Assessments. We have worked with specialist Heritage Bodies and Societies in the past to ensure that beautiful historic features are protected and celebrated whilst not compromising the overall design and commercial viability of the building and project for our Clients.
APM offer Project Management services through our CIOB Chartered Construction Manager. This allows APM to professionally manage projects from conception and feasibility through to handover.
