Refurbishment of Windermere Hotel including new external terrace
APM Design were appointed to provide; Interor Design, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Planning Agency and Contract Administraiton services for the refurbishment of the family owned Craig Manor Hotel.
Our brief was to make the stunning Lake Windermere and Langdale mountain views the focal point of the interior which was to have a clean and contemporary feel. A key aspect of the scheme was the design and installation of the new al fresco terrace area, which would again celebrate the views. APM worked with the local planning authority to secure the necessary approvals to ensure the Client's vision was delivered.
Acting as Project Manager, APM oversaw the entire project on the Clients behalf which involved a competitive main contractor tender, frequent design team and contractor site progress meetings as well as weekly cost updates to ensure the project was delivered within the desired budget.
The project was successfully completed on time, on budget and opened to the public the morning after Practical Completion was awarded.
We have just completed our second hotel refurbishment project with APM. Working with Andy, Dean and Emma is always a pleasant experience. They have a knack of easily smoothing out the inevitable 'bumps' that occur during these types of projects.
Our most recent project completed on budget and on time! We are delighted with the finished product, which looks exactly like the CGIs APM created at the beginning of the project.
